Loved the taste and the fluidity. I’ll definitely be using these to fuel my upcoming races! 40g of carbs is the sweet spot for medium to long-distance sessions. Taking two per hour is a breeze, and if you pair them with the High Carb Drink Mix, you’ve got a rock-solid strategy of continuous energy all the way to the finish line. Also, big win on the packaging—the 'stay-on' tab is so much better than the ones where the tip tears off completely.
First time trying this gel, and I’m impressed.
Right away, I could tell it had a better electrolyte balance than any other gels I’ve used before — slightly saltier, but not to the point where you desperately crave water. You can take it without a liquid follow-up (though it’s still better if you can).
I’ve tried multiple brands over the years, but this one is now my favorite. At first, I thought it would make me feel heavy or overly full, but it sat surprisingly well in my stomach. No uncomfortable side-stitch, no bloating — something I often experienced with other gels like GU (regular and Roctane). Those smaller gels made me feel full and always required water to get down.
The price point was another big win for me — it’s great value for the performance you get.
So far, I’ve had a steady energy release during my runs, and it tastes great too. Honestly, this is my new go-to gel from now on.
I used bix gels for my recent Margaret river Ultra As part of my 90g per hour fueling strategy. I used 1 gel per hour with a caffeinated gel every third hour. best gels i have every used!!! Love the fact that they deliver 40g of carbs rather than the 25g of most gels. Love the 200mg of sodium as part of my 1000mg/hour target. Love the caffeine in the gel for being so gentle on my stomach but still effective. love the bix cap to keep the sun off my face. my nutrition strategy worked very well and carried me across the finish in my best time of my many attempts at this event. thanks bix!!!!
Like this gel a lot - good consistency, pleasant texture and taste, makes it easy to manage carbs per hour - have noticed a difference in my runs. Will be getting this gel again.
My first marathon using Bix and it was the first marathon I have not cramped up. I used the gels every 7kms and the hydration tablets at 10km, 20kms and 30kms
It’s perfect for indoor long ride. Never had stomach problems with Bix even after taking 11 packs of them. the salted strawberry could do a little saltier in taste tho.

The gel provided me with a good source of energy during training. I used to feel sick after taking any gel. However, bix gels taste good and I got no stomach issues at all!!!
Bix recovery is great too. I take it after training every time now and I can definitely feel the difference. Before, I am always tired after training, but now, after taking it, I feel much more energetic.

After trying a few different gels & finally seeing flavoured gels from bix, we had to give them a try! Consistency & flavour is good! Easy to get them down & easy on the gut. Did a half marathon trail run with these plus a mix of bix carbs & electrolytes. Had no tummy issues & felt pretty good.

You can take it without a drink, though it’s always better if you can.
I don’t drink coffee, so I can’t really compare the flavor to that, but honestly, it doesn’t taste that different from the regular non-caffeine version. In fact, during a run, you might not even notice the difference unless you really pay attention — so it’s easy to mix them up if you’re not careful.

Love the taste and the lower viscosity of the gels. They go down easily whilst running especially on trails. Love that the tear off at the top also stays attached!
